To the question of syncretism in a politician’s linguistic personality
Abstract
In this article, the linguistic personality of a politician is seen as a syncretic phenomenon that is expressed, on the one hand, in the interaction of the three levels of patterns of linguistic identity, proposed by J. N. Karaulov, on the other hand, in the systemic functional interaction of communicative strategies and tactics used by the language of identity politics in the spoken discourse. The leading typical strategy of speech activity policy is a persuasive strategy aimed at achieving the main goal of political communication — victory in the struggle for power.
