Linguopragmatic characteristics of the dialogical function in the private letters of J. W. Goethe
Abstract
The article deals with the functional, communicative and structural aspects of a monologue with some elements of a dialogue as a form of speech representation of epistolary text. The dialogical function of its elements and the accumulative strategy of its construction are discussed against the background of the monological form of the letter. The discourse analysis is based on the private letters from J. W. Goethe to his friend K. F. Celter, the text of which registers initial and reactive utterances; it also analyzes the originality of language used to form and connect these utterances into a single text.
