Life is about people’ — a model of expressing the speaker’s values
Abstract
The article focuses on one model of actualizing the value system in modern English which is used for saying what the most basic or important aspect of a particular job, activity or relationship is. The model is a way to express the speaker’s notion of universal values — vital, moral, social, political etc. It serves as a rhetoric device to attract the addressee’s attention and convince him of the speaker’s viewpoint.
