Abstract

The article investigates (on material from Dictionary of everyday Russian language of Moscow Russia 16–17th centuries) word-formative activity of polysemantic words from various parts of speech in comparison aspect. It marks semantic parallelism, grammatical variation, the appearance of all sorts of connotations in the derivatives of words. It examines tokens active in wordbuilding, the semantics of derivatives is associated with the semantics of generating tokens. A derivational chain is traced. We analyze the structure and semantics of the richest derivational nests given in the dictionary starting with the fi rst letters of the alphabet.
