High technology of Soviet industrial news
Abstract
Th e article is dedicated to the features of newspaper text creation in Soviet times. Th e author reveals how presentation of data was determined by ideological discourse which in turn was deeply aff ected by offi cial documents issued by the Communist party. Soviet newspaper text is considered as an instrument: events are not treated as facts but reconstructed in accordance to a strict compositional model; this model, predetermined by a document, is quite familiar to a journalist. Showing how political ideology merges with the newspaper speech, the author demonstrates why such a technological approach to newspaper text creation inevitably makes a journalist ideologically dependent.
