On a French author writing in Russian: The case of Vladimir Maramzin
Abstract
Vladimir Maramzin has been living in Paris since 1975. In the 1970s-1980s he published three books of prose fiction in France and the USA. After the publication of two of his short stories by the half-underground Sumerki magazine (No. 11, 1991) he made a slow comeback to literature: in 2003, 2007 and 2013 he published three independent books of fiction and memoir-polemic prose. His last book, "The Land of Emigration. The Glory-Bearer" (the first part of a trilogy) he describes himself as a Russian author by the language only and creates a model of non-return space.
