Ps 110(109): Problems in Interpretation
Abstract
Ps 110(109) is one of the most controversial Old Testament texts. Due to the outstanding importance for the Christian thought it remains a focus of disagreement among biblical scholars. The purpose of this paper is to present the results of the investigation of the different issues in the field of the Ps 110(109) interpretation. The article is based on the analysis of the Masoretic text of the Psalm. This study led to the conclusion about fourfold structure of the Ps 110(109). The conclusion of this paper shows that Ps 110(109) describes the eschatological warfare and victory where the main role belongs to the Davidic Messiah or David redivivus.
