Зачем читать о животных: к вопросу о становлении жанра автобиографии животного в британской литературе XVIII–XIX вв.

Статья представляет анализ генезиса автобиографии животного в английской литературе рубежа XVIII–XIX вв., жанра, который, появившись в круге взрослого чтения, скоро занял центральное место в поле детской литературы. Возникновение, становление и эволюция жанра рассматриваются в трех контекстах. Идеи А.Смита и Д.Юма, педагогические учения Дж.Локка и С.Триммер, а также исследование А.Аалтолы в области зооэтики формируют центральные философские категории нового жанра: сентиментальное чувствование, симпатия, забота о благополучии другого живого существа. Автобиографическое повествование о животном рассматривается в контексте романной культуры XVIII в. Сопоставление автобиографии животного с популярным в XVIII в. типом романа о приключении вещи (it-narrative, novel of circulation) актуализирует проблематику одушевленного/неодушевленного рассказчика. Эволюция жанра прослеживается на материале трех произведений, в которых повествование ведется от лица зверя: «Жизнь и прогулки мыши» Д.Килнер, «Приключения ослика» А.Аргус, «Черный Красавчик» А.Сьюэлл. Так как авторами подобных автобиографий стали преимущественно женщины, на которых возлагалась забота о детях, третьим направлением анализа становится женский биографический текст и женские нарративные стратегии в жизнеописаниях. Написанные более двух столетий назад женщинами, которые присваивали себе голоса животных и говорили об их благополучии, автобиографии осмысляются в терминах экофеминистской критики, animal studies и human-animal studies. Делается вывод о том, что данный жанр можно назвать просвещенческим проектом, который обладал и до сих пор обладает не только дидактической, но и эмансипаторной функцией.
